CHERRIES
Petras Fruits is one of the largest Greek exporter of cherries with more than 20% annual growth in quantities every of the last 5 years.For 2020 our company distributed more than 2,000 tones of fresh cherries. Its main markets are Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Poland and Scandinavian countries.
The cherries are harvested in the areas of Imathia and Pella and transported to the company’s facilities by our own trucks. There,the cherries go through a precooling process with a special hydro cooler in order to be sorted and packaged.
The after-harvest processes take place in our warehouse in Veria,Imathia,where our electronic calibrator separates the cherries by color,size and quality.The main varieties are: Samba, Larian, Crystalina, Georgia, Early Star, Grey Star, Black Star, Big Star, Lapins,Giant Red, Ferovia, Skenna, Regina, Kordia.
Our goal is to surpass the 5,000 tones into the next 5 years.For that reason, we have invested in new high-tech machinery and warehouse-storage facilities.
